Our Center began a partnership with the NC Community Schools Coalition in the 2024-2025 school year that has continued to expand. The mission of the Coalition is: To improve the academic, mental, and physical health of North Carolina students by supporting schools to serve as hubs of community resources, with students and families as leaders positioned to influence the systems around them. Our Center is serving as a statewide partner with the Coalition to provide support and implementation specifically around the mental health and social-emotional well-being area of the community schools model by providing our Resilience & Learning coaching model within many community schools across the state.
As of the 2025–2026 school year, the Center supports 18 community schools across the districts listed below.
- Elizabeth City-Pasquotank
- Vance
- Sampson
- Hyde
- Washington
- Northampton
- Bertie
- Asheville City
- Buncombe
Each school receives professional learning and ongoing coaching in trauma-informed practices, social-emotional learning, and staff well-being/collective care. Our dedicated Center Coaches ensure consistent, high-quality support and help schools sustain meaningful, schoolwide change.
