Center staff have worked closely with our lead researcher at Duke University’s Center for Child and Family Policy and used materials and resources from the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative in Massachusetts to create a set of online training modules to help school staff learn about trauma. The online content is paired with school-level consultation to support school staff to understand the process of becoming a trauma-informed school and develop an action plan for moving forward. The modules would ideally be done with a small, core group of staff. Before beginning the online course, a Center staff will lead an introductory overview with your staff to introduce the training topics and show you how to use the modules. Using our first online course, this is an eight-week process with one of our Center staff that begins with the introductory overview and walks with staff through five individual modules. Online modules are interspersed with consultations from Center staff typically every two weeks to process and apply the information learned.
- Access to course modules and ongoing coaching and consultation over an eight-week process
***The course is already fully online and the consultation meetings can be provided virtually as well.

What our Level Three participants are saying:
“[The online course paired with consultation groups] made it personal, and it allowed our teachers/admin to learn from the experts. The timeline worked very well. Good pace and not too long.”
“This course has allowed me to strengthen my support when working with school teams regarding “shifting” their focus from standards to students; providing me the appropriate terms to use when coaching these teams to engage others and share their learning to help inform more adults in their buildings.”
